The Power of Sharing Your Story

Here's why telling your story can positively change the world.

Every story you send to ADDA can potentially help someone else build a bridge to connect to an inspiring message and to motivate others to create a more fulfilling life with ADHD.

Tell your Story to ADDA (Attention Deficit Disorder Association)

The quality of our lives depends largely on what we pay attention to and the kinds of stories we tell ourselves. A story can recreate an experience in such a way that invites others to relive it as though they were there themselves. We don't just listen to the story – we engage and become a part of it. Sincere narratives have the ability to transcend boundaries between the listener and the narrator.

When you choose to share your story, you reveal a special, unique account that offers others a significant and empowering perspective. Sometimes, your account can even offer others a sense of purpose. Sharing stories is what has the ability to transform the world.

By sharing your story, you will provide others with the hope of a more compassionate world that wants a balanced understanding of the challenges and the strengths adults with ADHD possess.

Unfortunately, we still live in a world that does not generously promote praise, nor acknowledge others, for being different or for doing things in divergent ways that do not conform to societal standards.

Recent research conducted at the ADD Coach Academy with the VIA Institute on Character has revealed that creativity is a signature strength (top five character strengths) for adults with ADHD. Yet, many continue to view it at as weaknesses and impairments that need to be improved as the main focus for progress. Your story can begin a movement of positive change for countless numbers of adults who needlessly suffer with ADHD and associated stigmas.

Your positive story of growth, understanding, and awareness of your own ADHD (and the capacities that you possess) can open the door for others who have been resistant to embarking on new paths.

The insight and knowledge you have gained can ignite hearts and minds, allowing others to pursue tasks they have been fearful of initiating. You can help those who have remained stuck in a negative mire of thoughts, beliefs, and poor self-image, which is not a true picture of who they are.

Adults with ADHD don't wish for stagnancy. They need and desire the discovery of a source of purpose that will inspire them to activate both their hearts and heads in harmony. Your compelling tale has the potential to ignite the spark to their inner fire of passion; you can get their engines revved up to achieve their goals and, ultimately, greatness.

When you do you share your story with others, nothing may initially appear to change visibly. However, when you relay your tale with zest, authenticity, and a sincere intention, the minds of others will be open to a new and encouraging perspective of hope for a better future.

ADDA is providing you with a powerful platform to make a huge difference in the world by sharing your adult ADHD story. Here's your chance to provide so many others with an important message of meaning, purpose, and inspiration. You will never know the impact sharing can have on others until you share it with the world.

This is why I have been recounting and offering my own narratives for twenty years.

Here's your chance to express how you have learned to thrive with your ADHD fulfilling an important goal or mission. This is only one of many themes you can share by giving others the precious gift of your ADHD story.

Send your story to the leading adult ADHD organization in the world. You will be providing a gift to so many people that need to look at ADHD through a new pair of lenses – one that can provide hope for a future of positive possibilities. Send your story today.
