Graduation and Certification Requirements

Professional Advanced ADHD Coach Training Program

A student at ADDCA may be taking courses for a variety of purposes.  Therefore, ADDCA offers different levels of accomplishment for the Professional Advanced ADHD Coach Training program.

I.   Certificate of coach training hours Completion
II.  Graduation (PACG designation)
III. Certification (ACCG certification) (see requirements below)

I.  Certificate of coach training hours Completion (without PACG designation):

A student can receive a ‘Certificate of Completion’ of the ADDCA  Professional Advanced Coach Training program, without PACG designation, if they elect to only attend and participate in the classes and complete the module reviews.  Students wanting a ‘Certificate of Completion’ do not have to complete the requirements of mentor coaching, client coaching hours, welcome packet, coaching feedback, and final oral evaluation.

This certificate of coach training hours completion can be used as part of an ICF portfolio application or an ICF recertification.  It could also be used for a PAAC certification application.

II.  Graduation (PACG designation):

A student can graduate from the  Professional Advanced program and receive an ADDCA  Professional Advanced Coach Graduate (PACG) designation by meeting the Professional Advanced program graduation requirements..  A student can graduate with an PACG designation with a minimum of 60.5 hours of coach training by:

  • Completing the Simply ADHD (Module 99); Personal Transformation (Module 100);  Advanced course (Modules 201-207) at or above required attendance levels
  • Successfully completing the Module Reviews for each module
  • Meet Supervised Coaching teleclass requirements- (Total 8: Coach 5x / Observe 3x)
  • Working with an ADD MCC/MACC mentor coach for at least 10 hours (additional fee applies for mentor coaching)
  • Obtaining three written feedbacks from an ADHD MCC/MACC mentor coach on his/her coaching skills
  • Submitting a log confirming that he/she has coached at least 5 clients for a minimum of 50 hours (only 15 hours can be pro bono)
  • Having completed a individual research project
  • Applying for graduation (a brief essay is part of the application)
  • Successfully completing a final oral coaching exam

III. Certification (ACCG Certification):

IMPORTANT: In order for a student coach to apply for Advanced Certification (ACCG) they must have graduated with their PACG designation (see above- Graduation with PACG Designation) and met the requirements to apply for (AACG) Certication.(see below- Requirements to Apply for ACCG Certification).

Requirements for ACCG certification:

Before one can apply for this certification at ADDCA, a student must meet the following requirements:

  • Be a graduate of the Professional Advanced program and have received your PACG designation
  • Have coached at least 20 clients and accumulated at least 350 client coaching hours (Up to 30 hours can be pro bono; the rest must be paid coaching hours.)
  • Have worked with an  ADHD MCC/MACC mentor coach for at least 10 hours over a 3-month period and within the six months prior to your certification application
  • Have obtained two letter from ADHD MCC/MACC coaches  who have heard you coach and can attest that you are coaching at the ACCG/PCC level

This ACCG certification will test applicants at the same coaching standards level as the ICF Professional Certified Coach (PCC). The benefit of applying for the ACCG is that you will be tested by assessors familiar with ADHD coaching. you can apply and get tested faster than the certification process at ICF, and you will be able to apply to obtain the ACCG designation with half the coaching experience hours needed for the ICF PCC designation. When you successfully receive the ACCG, and once you’ve accumulated the 750 experience hours, you can apply at ICF as an ACTP applicant rather than as a portfolio applicant.

Please note:

*Group mentor coaching may count toward the mentoring requirement of 10 hours, but no more than 70% of the required mentoring hours (in this case, 7 hours) can come from group mentor coaching. The group in which applicant was mentored cannot have contained more than 10 participants.

**There is an additional fee for  the ACCG application process.
