Strengths-based ADHD coaching for late-diagnosed adults

Mike Bessey, DipHE, AACC

I work with ADHD and AuDHD adults who are tired of fighting how their brains work, specialising in those who are late-diagnosed or freshly-realised.

If you've spent years thinking you were lazy, broken, or just not trying hard enough... I get it. I wasn't diagnosed until my late 30s.

My approach is strengths-based. We don't just fix what's "wrong", we build on what's already working. Alongside this, we work on self-compassion, letting go of shame, and understanding why strategies haven't stuck before.

I'm UK-based and work with clients worldwide via Zoom.

Sessions are 50 minutes, weekly or fortnightly. I offer reduced rate places for those on lower incomes.

Not sure if coaching is right for you? I offer free 30-minute discovery calls. No obligation, just an informal chat to see if we're a good fit.

Client Testimonial

"Mike was warm and friendly and put me at ease. He really gets ADHD and how it affects people. He helped me break down a large piece of work I'd been procrastinating on for a long time, and something I'd been putting off suddenly felt like something I could do."
- Elspeth

Each session starts with what's going on for you. I ask questions and reflect back what I'm hearing with an ADHD perspective. This helps you see patterns and question beliefs that might be holding you back. You won't leave with a to-do list I've written for you. Instead, you'll leave with clarity about what matters and what to try next.

Before training as a coach, I worked in Learning and Development across local government and the NHS. That's where I discovered I loved coaching, and that everyone learns differently.

I hold a Diploma in Psychology and Counselling accredited by the British Psychological Society. This doesn't qualify me as a licensed therapist, but gives me a grounded understanding of research, mental health, and ethics. I'm part of the LGBTQIA+ community and offer a safe space for all identities.
