Kristen Denney, ACCG, PCAC, PCC
ADDCA Assessor
Washington, United States
Kristen’s journey into ADHD coaching began when she sought a career change. She began working with a career coach who understood ADHD, which helped her clarify her goals and values and inspired her to become a coach herself.
Later, working with her own ADHD coach gave her the support she had long needed, deepening her understanding of how coaching could transform her approach to life and work. These experiences shaped her passion for helping others find the insight that leads to lasting change.
Kristen’s mission is to help ADHD clients live authentically and to guide future coaches in creating meaningful growth and understanding for the ADHD community.
Kristen has expanded into mentor coaching to support other ADHD coaches in their professional growth and ICF accreditation. She once found the ICF competencies and PAAC Essentials daunting, but now genuinely values the structure, clarity, and the way they highlight the distinction between coaching and other helping professions.
She mentors with empathy, patience, and perspective, helping coaches connect the competencies and essentials to their own coaching style.
As a coach, Kristen works with clients ready for change, open to trying new approaches and tailoring strategies to their lives rather than forcing methods that aren’t a good fit.
Her ideal clients are curious ADHDers who want to align their choices with what matters most to them, whether pursuing new career opportunities, building businesses, or creating more ease in daily life, by focusing on strengths, celebrating progress, and fostering self-compassion.
Before coaching, Kristen’s need for freedom and flexibility led her to work as a freelancer, a natural fit for her ADHD. She balanced freelancing with raising her daughter as a single parent, making parenting a priority.
Receiving an ADHD diagnosis later in life gave Kristen clarity about how she had managed her work and family responsibilities. She now appreciates that her ADHD wiring not only presented challenges but also enabled her to innovate, adapt, and juggle competing demands, strengths she now brings to her coaching and mentor coaching.
Kristen splits her time between Seattle, where her roots run deep, and San Diego, where the sun and sense of well-being have become her refuge.
