*David Giwerc is a Master Certified ADHD Coach, MCAC, with the Professional Association of ADHD Coaches (PAAC) and a Master Certified Coach, MCC, with the International Coach Federation (ICF). He is also the Founder and President of the ADD Coach Academy (ADDCA), the first and largest comprehensive ADHD coach training program fully accredited by the ICF and PAAC, the governing bodies of the Life Coaching and ADHD Coaching Professions.

David has served on many boards over the years. As past president of the ADDA (Attention Deficit Disorder Association), he was instrumental in the formation of U.S. Senate resolution 370 (108th Congress)  that declared September 7, 2004, to be National ADHD Awareness Day. Eventually, the resolution culminated in the creation of ADHD Awareness month, a whole month where the leading non-profit ADHD organizations are devoted to sharing reliable information about ADHD, with the public, based on current neuroscience and peer-reviewed research. As a veteran ADDA board member, David was involved in the development of their “Guiding Principles for Coaching Individuals with ADHD.”

Currently, David serves on the Professional Advisory Board of ADDA, PAAC, and is a former board member of APSARD (American Professional Society of ADHD and Related Disorders).

In his groundbreaking book, Permission to Proceed: The Keys to Creating a Life of Passion, Purpose, and Possibility for Adults with ADHD, David shares his unique and effective coaching models for gaining control of one’s ADHD at home, work, and in the community.

.David is an inductee of the International CHADD Hall of Fame and a recipient of the ACO Founders Award for his many contributions in the field of ADHD coaching and research.

David is also one of the authors of the pioneering research, Are There Character Strengths Associated with Adult ADHD? Comparison of ADHD Adults and Controls on the VIA Inventory of Strengths, which received one of the four best poster research awards at the annual APSARD conference.

As a spokesperson for the ADHD coaching profession, David has been featured in numerous national publications, radio and television programs, and has been a key presenter at various national and international conferences. Prior to coaching, David helped develop and direct the marketing/strategic plans on behalf of one of the world's largest advertising agencies, Young & Rubicam.

David is a 1978 graduate cum laude of Syracuse University’s Newhouse School of Communications. He and his wife, Marla (ADDCA co-founder), have two adult children. In his previous life, David played Division I college basketball and earned a black belt in Budokai Karate.

David has an internationally recognized coaching practice dedicated to empowering ADHD entrepreneurs, executives, and CEOs from businesses of all sizes. David’s ADHD coaching skills, intuitive business sense, and diverse experience have been credited in helping to transform struggling businesses into profitable thriving enterprises.
