The Greatest Ignorance People Have is Rejecting Something They Know Nothing About

ADHD Education

The greatest ignorance people have is rejecting something they know nothing or very little about, and then going out and saying things that justify that ignorance.

There are some people who by virtue of a credential or status, think they know what ADHD is and think they know what solutions need to be implemented for everyone to improve their ADHD.

The scientific facts and comprehensive health options that are part of a successful system for managing ADHD have been researched, documented and disseminated to the public. They have been successfully used by countless numbers of people with ADHD to create fulfilling lives.

We know that proper diagnosis supported by the appropriate medications have been important components of successful treatment.

Well-trained and experienced health care professionals who work with people who have ADHD, know that an emphasis on medications is NOT THE ONE AND ONLY SOLUTION. The “pill” will not give you the skills to learn what needs to be integarted and implemented to live a successful life with ADHD.

Proper diagnosis supported by targeted ADHD mediations can put an individual with ADHD on a level playing field by giving their brain what it needs to manage the invisible challenges of inattention, impulsivity and hyperactivity.

However that is not enough!

It takes personalized education to identify the specific situations that impact a person’s ADHD and an understanding of how an individual’s impairing challenges of ADHD show up.

Personalized education is instrumental in managing the challenges of ADHD.

When you know what has been getting in your way, it is easier to get out of its way and access the natural gifts that have been buried.

If you have ADHD, it does not mean you are broken. It really means you have a unique brain wiring.

When you understand your ADHD, it can allow you to access your natural recurring patterns of success that lead to excellence.

Ignorant individuals send messages blaming others and stating that health care professionals and parents are focused only on limited solutions to cure ADHD.

This is a message that needs to be deleted from the mindset of all ADDers and those who support them!!!

  • We know that ADHD can be manageable when understood and successfully treated in a comprehensive manner
  • We know ignorant people talking about myths and fallacies diminish the self-esteem of those people with ADHD, and exacerbate their challenges

We need to tell those ignorant people to:

  • Go out and find out the truth about ADHD
  • Stop spreading fallacies that help support their own ignorance
  • Implore them to learn the truth about ADHD so they will accept it, not reject it

As Confucious once said: "Real knowledge is to know the extent of one's ignorance".

I would add the following message to those who want to learn the truth about ADHD: "Accept what you don't know and learn what you need to know about ADHD so you can do something constructive to empower those who live with it everyday."
