You Choose Your Thoughts Way Before You Experience Them

“We choose our joys and sorrows
long before we experience them”
- Kahlil Gibran
Have you lived a life of sorrow and sadness for so long you are not aware of it? Have you traveled down the same road for so long you don’t know there are other ways to travel?
If you don’t know there is a different way to get where ever you want to go, then you are limited by the map you use to take your journey.
To change your sad, sorrowful route requires a conscious choice and awareness to choose joy over sorrow every time you travel.
However, if you think nothing can be changed, then whatever path you have forged is the one you will continue to travel.
Change is your conscious compass. The direction of your compass can guide you to joy or sorrow.
Once you select the path, the amount of work is about the same. Unfortunately, the results are not. It is changing the old path you have traveled that is the most difficult challenge.
It is the hardest part. Once you know the path that best serves you and know you can travel on it, whenever you choose, you will never go back to the bleak road that has held you back.
You will choose the light of joy to carry you out of the dark veil of sorrow so that you may travel to a more fulfilling and joyful place.
