Pay Attention to Your Successes
ADHD Education

Having ADHD means you have a unique brain wiring, or the capacity to engage trillions of different ways of learning, processing and performing in the world.
People with ADHD have talents and strengths that have been hidden because they think and do things differently than the methods prescribed by institutions, organizations, schools, businesses, families and more. Just because you don’t do things in a specific, uniform way does not make you broken, weak or unintelligent. It simply makes you unique.
You are capable of producing excellent results, but your process of getting there may be very different from others’. That doesn’t make you inferior. It is simply evidence of your own unique way of getting excellent results.
This is one of the many things that has helped me is to pay attention to what you have done successfully and identify how you did it. Then create a symbol, word, or picture to use as a prompt to remember what that successful experience was and how you did it. For example, whenever I look at my key chain there is a pendant of words attached to it which always reminds me of a leadership award,"Leading by Example" I recently received. It always makes me feel good.
