ADHD Coaching and CBT

Two ADHD Leaders Present How ADHD Coaching and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) Benefits Adults with ADHD

A Comparison of ADHD Coaching and CBT for Adult ADHD: Differences, Similarities, and Benefits
Presented by Russell Ramsay, PhD and David Giwerc, MCAC
2017 CHADD Conference

There has been increasing interest in both ADHD Coaching and CBT as treatment options for adults with ADHD. This presentation represents the first public dialogue between two leaders in the fields of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and ADHD Coaching. The presenters are:

Russell Ramsay, an internationally renowned CBT clinician, co-founder and co-director of the University of Pennsylvania’s Adult ADHD Treatment and Research Program and a member of the faculty at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania.

David Giwerc, a Master Certified ADHD Coach,  MCAC and pioneer in the ADHD coaching profession. He is the Founder/President of the ADD Coach Academy (ADDCA) and former president of the Attention Deficit Disorder Association (ADDA), the world's leading adult ADHD organization.

Some of the questions this presentation addresses are:

  • How do these disciplines benefit adults with ADHD?
  • Are these disciplines variations of the same approach?
  • Are they uniquely different approaches?
  • Where does one approach end and the other begin?
  • When should you refer clients for one approach rather than the other – or should they do both?

Watch and listen as these two dedicated, dynamic professionals co-present in a lively discussion about the similarities and differences between their respective fields, and how they can work together to provide great benefits for adults with ADHD.
